Space admins
On a large site the people who know which pages need restricting are often space admins, not Confluence admins. Restriction Rules can let them run rules in their own spaces.
Turning it on
A Confluence admin opens Restriction Rules, then Settings, and turns on "Space admins can use Restriction Rules in their own spaces". It is off by default.
What a space admin gets
- A Restriction Rules page in Space settings, for that space only.
- Rules, bulk changes, undo and audits for pages in that space. The same preview, watch period and typed confirm as everyone else.
- The page panel on pages in that space.
What stays with Confluence admins
- Settings, "Pause all rules" and "Undo everything".
- Audits of a page tree or the whole site, and the space roles report.
- Anything outside the space. Every call checks, as that person, that they administer the space, and that the page or run they name is in it.
A Confluence admin always sees every space and every rule.
